Hurricane Michael strengthens to Category 3, not a threat to land

Hurricane Michael is the the first hurricane to threaten the Atlantic Ocean this hurricane season. It is a category 3, with winds of 115 mph. Although this hurricane sounds threatening, it is expected not to touch land.

Firefighters prepare for large Washington state blazes to merge, with lightning storm to come

On Sept. 21, the meterologists in Washington state were worried about the lightning storm expected to come. This storm was threatening to the area because there had already been a great amount of wild fires. State officials are warning citizens to stay indoors and limit thier physical activity.

People asked to evacuate Alaska tourist town of Talkeetna as river swells from heavy rains

Talkeetna, Alaska is suffering from flooding due to the recent rain showers. The flooding is also being caused by the rise in town's nearby river. This flooding has caused many roads to be closed and landslides to occur.
